NARATHIWAT, March 4 (TNA) – Police are tracing three men whose images appeared on surveillance camera films from two banks which were targets of bombings on Tuesday.

A surveillance camera at a Government Savings Bank branch in Rangae district captured the image of a man wearing a helmet who parked his motorcycle and walked to the bank’s ATM booth. He spent 30 seconds to
assemble the bomb and placed it at the booth.

At a Bangkok Bank branch in Sungai Kolok district, a security camera retained images of two men on a motorcycle. One pretended to withdraw money from an ATM and put a bomb there before leaving in 20 seconds.

Police presumed that they were young members of the Runda Kumpulan Kecil (RKK) insurgent group assigned by RKK leader Amrun Ming to attack Narathiwat banks.

Their photographs of the men were compared with police files of suspected insurgents and distributed to 19 police stations all 13 Narathiwat districts.

Two local residents were injured in bombings at seven Narathiwat banks on Tuesday.

In the provincial seat, three bomb explosions were reported while four others occurred in Rangae and Sungai Kolok districts. (TNA)
