CHIANG MAI, June 29 (TNA) – An Australian man on Tuesday was detained by police on charge of sexually abusing four Thai girls, sisters, in Doi Saket district of the northern province of Chiang Mai.
Karl Joseph Kraus, 90, was arrested after Pol Col Krisanapol Yisakorn of Doi Saket police station and tourist police raided at his house.
An arrest warrant was earlier issued for the Australian national charged with sexually abusing children under the age of 15.
Mr Kraus said that he lured the four siblings, aged between 5 and 12, with money and sweets to his home and then molested them several times during the past two years.
Their parents lodged complaints to the local police after they noticed their daughters were unusually quietly after leaving Mr Kraus’s house and their daughters admitted they were raped.
The police found the accused’ home found about 100 pornographic pictures of at least 20 girls.
The police presumed that Mr Kraus might sell these pictures to customers abroad and seized his computer for further investigation.
The detainee initially denied all charges. (TNA)
