BANGKOK, Aug 16 - An African man was arrested for smuggling 850 grammes of cocaine worth over Bt3 million (US$90,000).
Police said the man, identified as Mamadouba Camara from the Republic of Guinea, was arrested after the authorities received a tip about a cocaine sale at Bt3,000 ($93) per gramme in Bangkok's Bang Kapi district and in the resort town of Pattaya, southeast of Bangkok, to both Thais and foreigners.
Undercover police bought the drugs and apprehended the suspect who confessed he had smuggled cocaine from Kenya to Thailand by swallowing it in packages to his stomach, and later collecting it after it passed through his digestive system.
He was charged with possession of illegal drugs for sale. (MCOT online news)
